Roof edge

Fascia and soffit repair, done before the gutter goes up.

Rotted wood replaced, aluminum and vinyl trim that blew off put back, and the gaps animals use sealed shut. Usually $300 to $400.

Chapter 01

Rotted wood out, damaged trim back on

Fascia is the board your gutter hangs on, and soffit is the underside of the overhang. Chappell repairs rotted wood and also fixes damage to aluminum and vinyl soffit and fascia caused by wind, animals or other natural occurrences.

Across Northwest Arkansas that shows up as trim that has blown off in a storm, boards that have gone soft behind an old gutter, and openings that let critters into the eave. The crew replaces what is rotted, refits what the wind loosened, and closes the gap, so the edge of the roof is solid and sealed again.

Why it comes before a gutter install

A new gutter is only as good as the board holding it. On older homes the fascia is often rotted before a new gutter goes up, and a rotted board cannot hold a new run. The crew repairs it first so the new gutter has something solid to hang on.

This is the reason Chappell added fascia and soffit repair to its services by the end of 2021: so homeowners could handle every pre-installation repair through a single contractor. Neil's crew works out of the Athens Ave shop in Springdale and handles the board and the gutter as one job.

Chapter 03

Price, timing and the warranty

Fascia and soffit repair is usually $300 to $400. Lead time averages 2 to 5 days, and a typical repair takes 1 to 2 hours on site.

Full fascia and soffit installations carry a 5-year limited labor warranty, and partial installs and repairs carry a 90-day warranty. Estimates are free: call (479) 717-7726 or request one online, and tell the crew whether you are repairing the trim by itself or before new gutters.
